Why buy the Oracle Omega? If you've done research within the recumbent bike marketplace you'll have discovered that on the basis of features and components alone, you can't find a better deal anywhere. The Omega is jam packed with many not-so-standard 'standard' features:Full suspension is something the modern cyclist deserves
and expects so why is this always an upcharge? The Omega is standard equipped
with a MEKS carbon fork (50mm travel, weight of 1.4kg) with
lockout lever which comes in handy in perfect conditions for increased
speed. It's also easy to reach for engaging while hill climbing (Left:
oil damper compression adjust. Right: coil springs); Our premium Rock Shox Ario rear shock offers 165mm travel with rebound adjust and lockout (weight: 225g) for smooth performance at all speeds and in the varied terrain and cycling conditions in most of North America we feel this feature is a 'must have'; Optimum ergonomic arm positioning regardless of arm length is another design point that we just aren't willing to compromise on. With our unique adjusting under seat steer system (borrowed from the MTB world) all riders will find it easy to swivel the handlebars into an easily reachable place ; |

No Upcharge Options:Time was when a lightweight frame meant a premium price & commensurate upcharge. Our heat treated 6061 T6 aluminum frame is standard fare that reduces frame flex thereby allowing for much better power transfer than CroMo. Our newer frame alloy allows for the use of large diameter tubing with thicker sidewalls to reduce torsional twist. Our frame design also provides significant weight savings; With similar brands, the little 'bells and whistles' can easily add up to a staggering final bill, but Avid disc brakes are now standard on the Oracle Omega (V-brakes may be substituted by request). Again, it was our vision that even higher mass riders should enjoy no quibble efficient downhill braking even in wet and dirty conditions; We could offer a much cheaper one size fits all type of inflexible seating approach and nickel and dime you for premium seating too. But since seating is a critical component on recumbent bikes we decided to include our comfort adjust hardshell fiberglass seat as another 'standard' feature on the Omega. The Omega seat easily adjusts to fit all body shapes and sizes; Our seat incorporates a front extension cup design so you won't slide forward even if the seat is in its upright position (check out the upcharges for this feature with other brands); Our removable and washable padded air flow seat cushion with wicking fabric topper keeps you comfy and cool and is standard equipment ($100 value); The Omega ships with one of two seat versions: attached or removable padded head rest ($50 value). Again, ergonomic & relaxed stance is a cornerstone of recumbent cycling, so why don't the counterpart models offer this vital part as a standard feature?; Our 100 psi Kenda Kwest tires are great for reaching maximum cruising speed; Our durable teflon chain tubes to keep you clean and protected; Our custom accessories: heavy duty rear cargo rack, front & rear fender package and durable kickstand are standard. MORE FEATURES:We could go on and on about the many design points and valuable features incorporated in this bike, but here are just a few more highlights of the Oracle Omega... With the Omega, you can easily set your preferred steer angle by adjusting the rear shock positioning; Our hydroformed rear frame support tubes provide better strength profiles thereby increasing aerodynamics; Our rear triangle accepts 26", 650cc or 700cc wheels so this recumbent road bike will easily adapt to your preferred cycling setup. Retrofitting our frames and framesets with existing parts is a breeze; The Omega pivot hinges upon a stainless steel axle with sealed bearings to achieve smoothness and also provide lowcost ease of service; The Omega's revolutionary clean drivetrain runs silent and there's no power loss due to a pulley; Lifetime frame warranty for original owner; Conditional one year replacement on components. Other considerations:We led the pack with the introduction of a reduced seat height to bottom bracket height ratio. This means your feet aren't elevated too high above your tushy. Why is this so important? It's critical to facilitate better power transfer, make spinning easier and reduce the possibility of numb feet! We also placed a strong emphasis on lower seat height in order to accommodate shorter riders and those with less than uber inseams. Women especially love the fit on our Omega City edition. All this said it's always prudent to test drive before purchasing any bike. But in this day and age, online shopping has become the norm so many of you are reading this with a view to making an online purchase without the benefit of a live Oracle Omega demo. Obviously this is not the optimum buying scenario for you the consumer. But here's a bit of comfort if it *is* possible to provide reassurances with such a high value distance buy... The Oracle Omega design wasn't merely pulled out of a hat. We had the incredible fortune to run the world's finest recumbent bikes through years of rigorous testing before we launched our manufacturing initiative. We consulted with literally thousands of recumbent bike buyers during our years operating a full service year round recumbent bike shop. Those experiences proved invaluable in determining what North American consumers were seeking in a recumbent 'dream bike'. And guess what? We were listening. Our customers unanimously reported that full suspension & superb groupo combined with all premium 'bells and whistles' were their order winning criteria! In other words these goodies (usually priced as add-ons) were non negotiable 'musts' - AND a high percentage of shoppers stressed that price had to be realistic too. Interesting as well was consumer preference for touring and cruising comfort over speed bikes. Most recumbent cycling shoppers had no intention of ever racing their recumbent bike, but the vast majority sure did yearn to get back into a comfy workout or fun recreational ride without experiencing all the aches and pains that go with uprights. So long story short, we designed a feature packed luxury cruising recumbent bike at the best possible price we could realistically offer. And to date, we haven't heard ONE bit of negative feedback from our customer base! But how is the ride you ask?Well :) it's simply amazing! Honestly, the Oracle Omega delivers the most stable, slick and sweet ride we've experienced within this bike class! We've yet to find anything that compares on performance. Relaxed veteran recumbent riders enjoy a 'no hands' weight shift steer phenomenon with the Oracle Omega. That's how balanced and stable our geometry is. Where can I test the Omega?Demos are available by firm appointment at our Oshawa, Ontario location. If visiting our factory isn't possible, email us and if there's an Oracle Omega owner located anywhere near you we'll try to arrange a viewing on your behalf. Can I manage assembly by myself?Yes! All of us here at Oracle Cycle Works are deeply committed to providing the finest pre and post sales support and service advice for your new bike. Purchasing directly from us may also bypass any dealer or shop premium and after all, any decent mechanic can easily tune your Omega once you've completed the rather basic initial assembly steps. We ship or email our easy to follow Assembly Guide with each online purchase so there's no guesswork involved with getting up and running. Anything else I should know?Last but most definitely not least, the quality and value inherent in the Oracle Omega groupset is unrivalled at this price point. Incur zero upcharges for our intuitive non indexed Shimano Dura Ace bar end shifters, SRAM 11-34 wide ratio cassette, lightweight Truvativ Elita triple crank (with crank guard) and the rugged performance tested Shimano derailleurs. Even the chain on the Oracle Omega is a real beauty! If you don't agree with our claims, comparisons and stated assessment of the Oracle Omega quality and value we strongly encourage you to write us before buying a competing brand. We'd just love to hear your feedback, questions and concerns! |
